Dead fuel pump

I have an 88 vert na that was running a few weeks ago but now wont start. I checked the fuel pump and normally the blue and red wire have power now only the blue does and the fuel pump is dead now. I had just put an oem one in a few months prior to this happening. Does anyone k ow why the fuel pump keeps dying? Is there something im over looking? Any help is greatly appreciated thanks

under the hood on the right side shock tower there is a yellow 2 pin connector, it is the fuel pump test connector, if you jump the two pins, the fuel pump should have power with the key on. you might try that

That will help confirm that you are getting the proper 12V to the pump. You can still pull the pump and apply 12V to the pump on the bench to make sure it's still good.
