Question Subframe Lateral link rod/dog bone bushings replacements

Has anybody found a way to replace the bushing and if so which bushing did you use?

Instead of replacing the entire link for $181

Those Mazda rear lateral links (FB01-28-200A) are ridiculously overpriced. If you Google the p/n, than you can get them at a better price. Tasca (www.tascaparts.com) sells them for $153 each.

The Mazda rear lateral links are not rebuildable. There's a Mazda speed shop that sells adjustable and rebuildable rear lateral links at a more reasonable prices. Parts Shop Max sells a pair of links for $200 (https://store.partsshopmax.com/shop/...gle/FCTOE.html).

Parts Shop Max also sells the "dog bone" links (https://store.partsshopmax.com/shop/...le/FCTACL.html).

I saw the parts shop max "dog bone" but I am concerned about clearance and long term use of the ball joins since they are not lubricated and exposed.

I am trying to keep stock items in place.

I was thinking that the joints on the lateral links are similar to a ball joint/ toe rod ball and that you could get energy suspension boots to replace them.

A couple years ago, I spoke to a guy at Parts Shop Max. He said that their lateral links are a drop-in replacement with stock suspension. The only case where they would not work is if one installed their sub frame risers (https://store.partsshopmax.com/shop/...ing/FCSFR.html). In that case, the links would interfere with the floor pan.

Yeah, I was concerned about the exposed heim joints too. He said that people have bought these links and are using them in their daily driver.

The other and more stout option, is the Ronin Speedworks. While not adjustable, they are much more robust design (one solid piece of machined metal, versus layers bolted together) and you can choose the severity of camber correction you desire. (FC Camber Links - Complete Pair) They're also only $149.00.

Remember, FD RX-7's use this type of joint from the factory for several critical suspension components. As long as it's a quality product, the service life of these parts should surpass OEM.

FYI, all Ronin camber links use branded Aurora bearings with PTFE (teflon) liners to be maintenance free.

>>> They're also only $149.00.

That's a reasonable price -- comparable to the Mazda part -- with seemingly higher quality than Mazda links.
