crank no start yes i searched.

I have combed through this forum and nopistons for suggestions and so far have come up with nothing.

I have an 88 T2.

Spark and fuel present.

Previously ran rough but started and ran none the less, so far i have removed the spark plugs and the top 2 are wet, bottom 2 dry. added atf and still nothing.
went through the deflooding procedures, still no start.
old gas drained and new fuel added.
Good battery.

i am genuinly unsure of what to do next. assuming (have to buy the guages) compression is good what should be my next check?
I should add that prior to me this car has sat since 09. i was able to start it after i bought it, engine was carbon locked among a few other parts that needed replacement.

Will it pop start? I had a problem where my air door would get stuck closed so it never delivered enough fuel on a cold start. Perhaps check tps as well.

Cant pop start it. Its in my back yard about a quarter acre back next to my shed on stands. I will check the air door though.

Air door works, i found that im leaking fuel through the exhaust manifold gasket. so i have reached two conclusions, 1. i flooded the engine. 2. the exhaust manifold gasket needs replacement as i may be losing compression through there.
