Cooling Issue

I just finished replacing my coolant lines, radiator, thermostat, and water pump. NONE where STOCK FACTORY PARTS. I also put in an electric fan. Now what seems to be the issue is, on a hot or muggy day when the air is warm or hot, the car heats up to 3/4 sometimes 7/8s. Specially under a load going up hill, the temp slowy rises a little past 3/4s on the gauge. But once cruising, it slowly goes back down in between 1/4 and 1/2. Now its getting cold here and the car never passes 1/4 temp. Even when its WOT it never reaches 1/2 on the temp.

My main concern is when the summer temperatures come back, and i start traveling. Is there something wrong with the system??? My friend was telling me it could be the water pump. Anyone have thoughts???

Thx.

LoS

get an aftermarket temp gauge and see what it reads...
i had a similar problem but when i put in the autometer gauge, it reads 180 while the stock gauge reads 3/4...
so i'd definitely recommend a new temp gauge...

Dou you have the top radiator to bumper cover and the lower engine cover on???

If you don't you are loosing about 1/3 of your cooling capability.

I would also suggest that the electric fan you are using is either a POS or not working correctly.

I'm using a Flex-a-lite Black Magic Electric Fan FLX-150.
As for lower engine cover, where and what's it look like?

Thx

The lower engine cover goes from the front lower edge of the bumper/grill to back onto the front lower crossmember for the suspension.

Large black plastic piece.

You kinda need it for proper air flow though the oil cooler and radiator.
