coolant leak

coolant leak

was driving my 7 and all of a sudden smoke started coming out from under the hood and I don't know where it is coming from before I try to figure it out any idea's and it runs fine yet its just leaking coolant

without even looking its hard to tell. there are big coolant hoses the come out of the fireall to the block, there are orings between the lim and block that sometimes leak. check the nipple on the rear iron and back of the waterpump housing. check your radiator hoses. check for other leaks around the waterump and thermostat.

its coming from the left side of the engine when looking from the front of the car

Cheak the small coolant hoses that run through the BAC and other emissions **** on the left side of the block

you also never mentioned what model you have? s4? s5? turbo? na? any mods? removed anything?

its a s4 non turbo and I put it on ramps today and it seems to be coming down from right above the tranny and you cant really see anything up there HELP???????

This happened to me on my 88 vert I blew the small coolant line at the firewall couldn't see where it was coming from until I pulled on the coolant line and found a small cut in it easy fix except getting the new coolant line on

let me know when you find out whats wrong i have the same problem as of yesterday but i think my new coolant cap is the problem

If its coming from above the transmission then your probably looking at leaking coolant hoses from either the block to heater core hoses or the hose on the back of the throttle body. Check those for leaks.

ok just a dumb question do i have to pull the intake manifold to check these because i cant see how you possibly cant? if you can do it with out removing the intake let me know how please
