coolant buzzer
coolant buzzer
I have a 86 fc3s and the add coolant light/buzzer keeps coming on randomly coming but the car has never overheated. Ive tried to unplug the switches near the radiator to try to get it from stop going off but nothing is working. any answers or requests would be appreciated. Thanks
Yeah typically it is an air bubble or a loose connection.
I just ran mine to a ground and it never comes on. I check fluids almost every day so the buzzer was just an annoying buzz I didn't need.

I'm constantly amazed by the number of people who call the buzzer annoying. If it's going off often enough to actually annoy you, you need to start fixing and looking after your damn car!
Checking the fluids daily won't help if a coolant or oil line bursts while you're driving. In either case the warning buzzer will almost certainly be the first clue you get that something's wrong. Disabling it means the chances of damage occuring before you realise there's a problem is increased, and IMO is just dumb. What's so hard about fixing the problem?

Yep, even if the sensor is bad... it is only a $25 part.
But idiots would rather disable it.
I just don't get it either
It was just a suggestion if he absolutly didn't want to deal with the light. Might not be the best choice but still an option.
My buzzer didn't go off regulary just seemed that the few times it did I had errands to run so across town listening to a buzz that won't go away. My car is in great shape and honestly rarely needs water added to it. I didn't disable my oil light either. Just the coolant so if I got low on oil I will know.

Besides bleeding the coolant system, double check your connection for the sensor. It leads out of the oil pan on the driver's side, and is a spade connection. Unplug it, clean it real well and plug it back in. Those connections get pretty dirty.
