Question Coolant??

OK so I have a 1987 Mazda Rx7 turbo and was wondering if anyone had any good techniques to remove a broken stud as seen in the pictures.
Also what size is the stud.
It is the coolant line that runs from the turbo to the LIM.

use a set of vice grips and twist it out. or use a dremel and grind a notch in it to use a screwdriver to remove it. it is threaded into the LIM. use a set screw to replace it.

Tighten the vise grips more. You may crush the threads on the stud, but so what?

Apply some heat with a torch before you try the vicegrips again. Heat makes everything expand slightly. The stud and the aluminum it is screwed into will expand at different rates, helping break the stud loose for easier removal.

This technique works well with a stubborn not *before* you break it off..

well I don't want to heat up that area yet I sprayed it with penetrating fluid earlier and that stuff is really flammable (not what I need right now) so I'll see what I can do tomorrow after school.

The dremel idea is really good, I would try that next if you haven't yet.

no as in the stud would still not come out.

On a side note I picked up the parts and the guy ordered the two bolts where it connects to the turbo not the LIM (Barnett87rx7)

Dunno if this would work but if you have a screw driver you don't care about, try jb welding it to the stud and after it hardens, see if you can unscrew it then.

jb weld is something you buy in a tube and squeeze out and gets almost as hard as a real weld you can buy at any autoparts store

Spray the hell out of it with PB blaster. That stuff is god.

Then dab the extra off about 30 min later.

Heat her up with a torch (you can find propane torches in the auto parts store. Get some camping propane tanks too)

Get your vice grips on there as tight as you can. It should come lose after this.

If that doesn't work then you need to find someone with a welder.

Just make sure you know which way you need to turn it out. I had the same problem and i tightened it and made it worse.
