Doesn't centerforce have a lifetime warranty?

Yo,

Do a search under "Centerforce." By multiple people's accounts...they suck ***.

Stay away! Spend the extra money and get a nice ACT Street/Strip clutch.

I did search, and I found that almost all of the bad accounts were about the dual friction clutches, no one really commented on the II. Anyone have specific information on this clutch?

centerforce

I know its a popular clutch, but it is so old... my dad used that when he used to race in the 80's

as far as it being good, sure it is, just old school.

whatever you do don't get the ACT street clutch in fact don't get ACT at all it sucks! (from personal experience)

I am not sure what the best clutch is for our cars but ACT is not.

They suck get a ACT. My friend had one for about 3 weeks then went back to a stock t2 replacement. Get the act clutch and aluminum flywheel package. you will regret not doing it.

ACT ALL THE WAY...Nobody really ever has problems with act. Everyone uses them even rx7.com drag car. My friend has Act in his N/A rx7 and worked flawless just like everybody elses. Act is probly the best street clutch you can get unless your E-Prod racing. Its 270 I think. I had a centerforce standard and it sucked. I hear about how the weights on the higher model ones suck and they slip. Only heard a few poeple whos centerforce clutch actually did them good...If you get centerforce make sure its an overkill so it doesent slip...

I've had a CF dual friction in my NA for about 4 years and it's going to STAY there right next to my RB aluminum flywheel when the TII motor goes in this winter. People here experience poor results with the DF clutch because of poor installation...I think ReTed has had one on his car with great results for years as well...the benefit of the DF is even greater holding power while still feeling like a stock pedal...I have an ACT 2600 in my GVR4 and it's way too stiff - it holds, but it's too stiff

only heard good things about the ACT clutch and bad about the centerforce.. A fellow racer around here has around a 500 hp tube frame car with a centerforce but he replaced the disk every race.. I have had 2 modded turbos and have had no probs so far..

I just order the stock clutch, PP, and throwout bearing from mazda for 180 bux. I would never buy any other street clutch than the oem mazda one, now the pressureplate, I was gonna get an ACT HD PP but there like 200-300 bux for the pressure plate alone.

Afriend of mine with a 3 rotor uses the stock mazda clutch with HD PP and has had no problems with slipping.

I've had no problems with my Centerforce II clutch/pp. Going on 8 months from my 86 RX-7 NA resurrection. Daily driver with occasional shameless displays of acceleration in Chicago. Hope this helps.

ok, let me rephrase the question:

What clutch should I get for my 88 turboII motor for less than 300 dollars?

I want atleast 30% grab increase, and reliability.

any ideas?

take my centerforce Dual friction. that is 90% grab increase. much better than stage II. mine is brand new from mazdatrix. only $250 shipped. I downgraded from turbo to n/a. so, the clutch is sitting there.

let me know.

Everyone says "Stay away". I say STAY AWAY!!! I have proof!!! When I get home I'll upload the pictures of my Centerforce II Dual Friction that half of the clutch material blew off of the clutch disk.

I have had nothing but BAD experiances with CenterForce and heard nothing and seen nothing but GOOD about ACT. I had a CF DF on my 190-210 fwhp 6 port, it slipped when shifting from 2nd to 3rd with full power on. The engagement sucked as well, to close to the botttom. After I sold the engine with the clutch, we had nothing but problems with getting the clutch to feel right. Eventually the new owner got a ACT and has been happy even though the CF had less then 15K miles on it. Another friend of mine had the DF CF and the weights on the PP diafram rattled like hell and squeled. We took the clutch out to find that the weights were rubbing the throw out bearing. Called CF, we had the correct part number and installed it correctly, CF would'nt do a thing about it. He replaced his clutch with a Racing Beat unit with no probs. ACT is the shiznit, I know at least 10 people running ACT's in high powered cars with no problems. "You Get What You Pay For!"

Pic of my old engine, you can see CF on it https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...threadid=82141
