Is it possible to take out the motors for the top and somehow do it manually?? is the convertible suspension different from a coupe?

Yes, I've done it, because I had a problem with one of the motors. Just get in there and take them out. Even though it was engineered to be powered, I can reach back over my head with both hands and open and close the roof from the drivers seat. I don't miss the power at all, and it cut like 40 pounds out of the car, IIRC.

How? Take out the interior trim in the back of the car so you can get to them, and the motors, linkage, etc are all just pieces bolted together and to the roof and the floor of the car. If you want to be clean, take out all the wiring too.

Yes. You still have to undo the latches, and the catch that lets the center section fold, then you just push it back and hang on when you lower it. It will fall hard if you just let it drop under its own weight. A little more effort up or down but it's actually much faster than the motors.

You can *also* take out the engine and transmission, even the rear end and driveshaft. It really saves a lot of weight and makes it much easier to pedal. Just install some pedals and a chain from an old bicycle. This is a common response to popping an apex seal.

I know a couple of guys, Fred and Barney, who even cut a hole in the floor so they can reach the road. They run along pushing the car with their bare feet....
