Condition of engine parts
Hello all, recently i decided to rebuild my first rotary(13b tii s4). i am new to the rx7 as of last year and have already had an engine failure. I believe the failure resulted from the front stat bearing and front rotor bearing werent getting oil and began to eat themselves(I was very surprised because never left the house in it without checking oil). Anyhow i have all my parts gathered from the initial tear down and would like to know any input you guys may have regarding condition of parts and if they are reusable.
First the housings, one housing has a gouge by the trailing plug location and a few small scars. The other looks and feels very clean all the way around
Trailing plug gouge
Small Scratches
Good housing?
Good housing?
Secondly my rotors, both had all seals in good shape and no visible dents, one rotor however had a pinched apex seal. Can something like that be repaired?
Left rotor had pinched apex. Right seemed healthy to me
2 healthier grooves
2 more healthy grooves
Third i have the plates/irons and e shaft
the rear plate feels smooth without any grooves
The same goes for the center iron, but the front iron has one noticable groove. The e shaft is pretty much hosed front stationary bearing chewed part of it up
Middle plate
Middle plate
Rear plate
Front plate
Groove along front plate
i any input is appreciated, thanks to anybody that took the time to help me out.
