Compression?

Besides getting a compression test done, are there any tell tale signs that your compression is off?

Low compression can cause hard starting.

OFf as in low?

Hard starting, flooding, poor idle, loss of power/response, poor fuel economy.

OFf as in none?

Hard to start, gallops while cranking, starts like a lawnmower, complete lack of ability to pull out on a hill, refusal to idle below 2000rpm in bad cases.
