Cold start system

Hey I have looked but couldn't find a way to remove the cold start so it doesn't go to like 2ks for 5 minutes. Anyone done this yet?

If it were adjusted per the fsm.......it wouldn't be at 2000 for five minutes. Fuel Section of the fsm.

when the clutch is depressed, it bypasses the cold startup. With it out, the rpms will rise for a few seconds and then go bakc to normal.

More misinformation...

The thermowax removed in that link is a cold idle system that raises the idle speed to 900-1000rpm until the engine's warm. It has nothing to do with the accelerated warm-up system (AWS) that riases the idle speed to 3000rpm for 15 seconds after starting. That is completely seperate, and is controlled by the AWS solenoid.

Not to be picky, but on a series four it's the Air Bypass Solenoid Valve and it functions for 17 seconds, not 15. Please.

.. ok.

If any of you want to know, the aws selenoid is connected to the BAC for the NA's, and on the series 4 it is bolted onto the plenum on the bottom right of the BAC valve. Disconnect it, and cap off the tube that connects with the BAC that runs to the throttle body elbow connecting tube.
