ON Cold Air Intake - TURBO

Hey everybody.
Does anyone have a true cold air intake for their Turbo II. wether it be a full kit or a heat shield with a cool air duct. I have searched for kits with no luck (nothing better than I have). I currently have the HKS super flow mushroom thing, which I love but I am not too big on the Idea of sucking in all that hot engine bay air, especially with a top mount intercooler. I am all about the little things and well makes sense to start with cold air than to "try" and cool hot air right? I may just go custom.

The only "True" cold or ambient air intakes just make a hole in the fenderwell area and then run piping down to your filter near the bumper. You would probably benefit more by just getting a FMIC, or heat wrapping the whole turbo.

i think you can route the filter down into the bumper area (custom of course)... but if i remember correctly, that requires removeing the washer fluid bottle.

building a air box with a snorkel would be kinda cool...

Here's the one I made: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/diy-cold-air-box-830116/. Mariah also has a fiberglass (?) box for around $200 that will section off that corner of the bay.

Back in the day when I had stock stuff like this I just got a cheap ebay cold air intake kit for a 92-96 prelude. Cut the piping to make it work with the AFM and bam worked like a charm. If you do a search you should find the thread...

you have an intercooler...

Cut a hole and route some tubing to direct air from the front of the car to it.

You might also consider running the BOV pressure release back into the TID.

A true cold air intake would require some type of refrigeration process. Otherwise, it is just a misnomer for an ambient air intake.

If you want to keep the HKS kit from sucking in hot exhaust air from the heat exchangers, then you just need to install some custom ducting.

BUY MY "other" Hood!..haha!
No seriously,I was thinking about this too.
you can make a small scoop "vent".
Start it at the Bottom Front bumper opening,Run the pipe towards the passenger side, going through that Little HOLE under the stock air box.and then attach the afm and run it to the Turbo.
..you know my Number, call me and I can explain this mad thinking" to ya!

heres an idea, I was gonna do this on my car. Take out your windsheild washer bottle cut a bigger hole where the bottle used to be and run your pipeing through the fender well or where ever its in a safe position.
