Question Clutches...

Ok...So I'm about to put an new clutch in my 90 Vert and I just wanted some feedback on the best clutch setup. I've run Centerforce and LUK alot in the past and have not been too awful impressed with either for the money. Thanx in advance for any input...

If you want something closer to the factory feel, ACT makes a nice Street Strip clutch. You can get a Heavy Duty or Extreme Pressure Plate with it.

just go down to advance auto parts and get the beck arnley piece that they sell. Unless you are making some kind of stupid power then it will be just fine.

I really don't understand all these people wanting crazy ridiculous clutches for their 140hp na daily driver.

I used to run a 6 puck XTD and was impressed with that. if you are going to be beating on it then its nice but then if you are beating on it dont expect the trans to last very long. mine only lasted about 700 miles.

Now that i went TII from the flywheel back i wouldnt think of owning another rx7 without a TII trans. So what i would do is buy an oem clutch and use that for a while until you has the time and money to switch to a TII setup or even a full TII swap

For stock power, it's hard to beat the stock clutch. The feel is right, and it's cheap.

.....and your clutch would have only lasted about 5,000 miles. XTD is ****. I put one in when i put my engine in, 5.5k later xtd stg3 6puck. No issues in my na bellhousing sense.

Stock replacement for a stock car. Though if you do feel the need to get something a little more expensive, racing beat has a street/performance clutch that I've used that was good.

I only got the XTD to use until summer anyways. I was going to go TII all the way this summer. Now im just going to wait until winter and get a little better turbo and a few other things done.

exedy would be the first one i would go with.
