Changing tranny fluid.

Quick question, can I fill my tranny fluid through the shift lever housing or do I have to do it from underneath?

88 GX. I'm using Redline MT-90.

I know Turbos have 2 drain/fill plugs and N/a's have one, doesn't that mean I can put it in the shift lever housing on an NA?

One more thing, how do I get this god damn shift know off? Do I hold the collar and twist the **** off (which I've tried), or does it come off all together? Clockwise?

Any help appreciated.

No. Every manual you will find says to use the fluid fill hole (there is a reason it is called that). Putting it in the shift lever will just fill the little lever space with fluid. Put it in the holes the Mazda engineers designed it to!!
