Changing AE Color?
I am about to buy an AE and I'm pretty sure I want to paint it. I'm not sure about what color but I'm not too crazy about the white. Just want to see who would paint it a different color or keep it white? I plan to keep the stock rims as well. I was also thinking about making some bigger fenders to fit some fatter tires in there too. First time making a poll so I'll see if this works

yeah you will probably get some people saying no leave it white. but hey even in a diffrent colour its still a 10th AE so why not. I think white is my least favorite colour on FCs allthough I have seen some really nice pearl white ones. but hey if ya wanna change the colour go for it

Paint it whatever you want, it will bump my value long term (like J-Rat says)
Seriously, if you want to paint it, but a regular 88 T2. Better still, buy a 89-91 T2 and get the performance gains.
And BTW, they are different. It's the details. You want collector value???? It's all in the details.

Post count is over rated
ey paint it black or a dark gun metal color 10th an 's are ugly. white looks good only on s5 t2s.u already got the black interior so go for another color outside.

if painting it is the only thing you're gonna do (i.e. if you're not gonna mod it in any way) don't paint it, but if you're gonna do other stuff, you might as well do it. My theory is, you either keep it original 10AE or change a lot, not just some things

I would paint it the same way it was intended to be, but it's your choice... My car is black and I know I'm going to do something a little on the wilder side one day when I can afford it, I'm tired of people thinking that this one chick is driving my car and tries to race her, when her car isn't all that fast. I love how word gets to me about someone beating my car when I wasn't out racing it or even driving it. Go figure... I want people to know what my car is and not mistake it for someone elses...

Hmm, all got good points and thanks for all the opinions
Foremost I am pretty sure I will keep the car for a long time.
Next, I don't look at it as an investment as far as a collector type of thing(if that's your investment you gotta look into new ones)
It is getting modded for sure so it won't be entirely original anyways.
It was previously painted a little poorly as the taping was kind of **** in a few spaces but I'll try to fix all that
No offense but it would not go yellow or orange...possibly a dark Navy or Black, or some other dark color.
In general I will have to see as I have been around the car for like 10 mins total. When I buy it and start stripping it down and get some opinions from other people that will help me in my ultimate decision. I also have to see how it feels when I drive it around too.
No offense but it seems like a mellow or girly colour in a way. It needs to scare people so they don't mess around with her.
On one hand I entirely understand the keep it white idea becasue it was that way originally and stuff and it would cost more to paint the door jams and stuff too.
This paint won't be happening until around Christmas or next spring so it won't be a well thought out decision and will be absolutely sure by then. I want all the go before the show. I don't think I want a bodykit or anything as I like the original styling but I may get the S5 front bumper and possibly make some bigger fenders.
Sorry bout the length...Lates

heh. a 10AE is just an all white T2.
unless YOUR 10AE is completely stock, with less than 40k on the clock, then its probably not worth much anymore anyway.
in the end, its your car. my AE is gonna get painted black.

not in my opinion. its just a S4 T2.
and then you have it modded.
10AE rarity is kinda hyped up if you ask me.
just because its 1 of 1500 produced isnt going to net you 1k over blue book price. you have a select group of people that would pay an insane price for a 10AE, and id bet anything in the world, they'd want it completely stock, with close to NO miles on it.
i also have a Mazda Protege MP3. one of 1500 made. hell, i even have a production number of 745.
has a special VIN, MP3 badging, built suspension (including strut tower bar AND anti-sway bars, not to mention a special color and body styling. will i get more money for it if i sold it? no. how bout in 10 years, 20? 30?...probably not.
