Im looking for a carbon fiber hood for my fc, but I Don't want the scoop for the top mount turbo. Anyone know where to get a *quality* hood with great fitment????

as long as i have been into 7's i have never seen a CF hood with no vents/scoops. i have only seen 1 on a 1st gen, and i think he had his Custom Made.

if i was ever to get a aftermarket hood i would get one with at least vents in it to make it somewhat functional.

thanks for all of your input.

I found an "OEM" version made by VIS at:

http://www.carbonfiberhoods.net/inde..._211_1107_1615

After consideration I think I'm going to get the Drift version on the above link. These beasts do put off alot of heat

thanks guys,
Rob

I looked at ViS' website and for the 86-91, they offer three different carbon fiber hoods for the FC, a drift style (with reverse vents), OEM style (no image, but presumably the one without vents) and a Turbo style (with the scoop molded in).

With no image available, I'm not sure if the OEM one is a non-turbo hood or a hood that is meant to replicate an OEM Turbo hood in every way down to provisions for the OEM scoop trim.

You might want to e-mail them, but I'm going to assume that since they have an OEM one + a turbo one, that the OEM is NA.

I like the "stock turbo" one. My main worry about these things is the attachment points. Unless they really know what they are doing the hood hing, and latch would be a nasty stress point. And if you cant use those but need to use "hood locks" then it seems a waste.

How much do these weigh?
