I believe hollowing out a stock cat that isnt clogged gives about 4 hp. It will probably be more if it is clogged.

What would be the advantage of buying a performance cat as to hollowing out a stoke cat?

I'm sure you could get a 2.5" Magnaflow cat and have flanges wielded on. Having at least the appearance of a cat will keep cops from giving you tickets.

Cops don't look for a CAT on cars.

haha, my inspection consists of "turn on your lights and windshield wipers" "did you change your brakes recently?" "$10, you're good to go". i could have a gerbil on a treadmill under the hood for all they know.

go for straight if you can legally. cats are just one more thing to go wrong... i just had one explode.
