Carpet installation tips?
Boy oh boy it’s sure been quite some time since I’ve been here haha. Unfortunately life happened and I’ve been unable to touch the car for the last 4 or so years. While at the storage building I got a bug up my butt to at least try to reassemble the interior of the car.
I got some of that godforsaken ACC carpet, and to my surprise it seems to fit relatively well by all accounts. Not too short like many people have stated.
I guess I’m just curious if anyone got any tips? One thing I’m seeing is that the factory carpet has almost a spray in expanding foam in the driver and passenger footwells. Is this gonna be a source of fitment frustration or is it generally just substituted with a layer of jute? Has anyone tried to replicate the effect with a can of expanding foam? I don’t have much to deal with on the floor seeing as how all wiring has been removed, and I’m running Corbeau seat brackets, which I believe will help immensely with fitment as the seat supports in the floor seem to be the only molded parts of this replacement carpet.
oh and has anyone done a Mass Back vs Poly Back comparison? Stock Interiors states the mass back will not affect fitment or quality and is purely for noise and heat, but I would THINK it would help keep the carpet from being too loose and maintain its shape better?

The best thing to do is to remove the foam backing from the stock carpet and placed it on the floor underneath your new kit, layered jute will never compare. The foam is usually attached to a rubber membrane which will separate, with effort, from the top layer of carpet.
There is a post on this IG page showing a few pics of the separated layers, it's closer to the beginning of the account. https://www.instagram.com/sendit7.fd...D-C27B5B109DD9
