Carpet Ideas

My carpet is shot and i was planning on buying something to lay over it. It will make it look a little cleaner and deaden some of the exhaust sound. Has anyone custom fabbed their own carpet? I just want some ideas....**** with diamond plate floormats bolted over it...or something.. pics would be great.
Thanks guys

Well, there's a guy in Gainesville who has a Turbo...I thought the carpet was pretty clean and nice, but he showed me that the previous owner simply took grayish blue felt and spray adhesive and laid it all down. It looked decent.

After some mayor over haul on my car it looked like trash. I was thinking about replacing it but i first decided to clean it. I bought Maguiars quick out and it removed all the stains it had on it. I removed the seats and made sure i got all the stains out. Some of them didn't come out (the ones under the seat) but all the rest did. My carpet is not torn or anything though. If you think about replacing it first try to clean it. If it is torn then replace it. Victoria British. com sell after market that will fit your car. Good luck and let us know what you do.

Well for starters replacing the whole carpet would be expensive unless you talk to some of your local carpet retailers they may be able to either give or discount you the scrape carpet leftover from jobs. Also you may also want to look in to some of the carpet foams because some of them can hold up to heat and help deaden sound. But if you realy do not want to go with carpet again you may want to look at your local craft stores/fabric stores (you would be surprised on what you would find that may fix that crazy problem at these places ) for a material that fits your fancy.(*** fur, felt, towel type stuff/velvet) I have redone seat covers and stuff but the biggest thing is do not buy the cheap knock off fabric because it will not hold up as long as the real stuff. The real stuff is meant to hold up to the sun.

Black Dragon Auto sells OEM replacement carpet kits for $269. That would be a good place to start when customizing if you intend on using stock colours.

Aside from that, any auto upholstery shop can help you though you may be surprised at the prices...
