Unhappy This Can't Be Normal... Or Is It?

1. At start-up the idle bounces from 1,000 RPM to around 1,300 RPMS. After driving for about 10-15 minutes the idle will drop just below 1,000 (approx 750 as stated in manual) @ stop lights.

However, if I push the clutch the idle bounces. Sounds as thought I am reving the engine getting ready to race.

2.When accelerating (fast shifting) the car hesitates at "EXACTLY" 3700-3800 RPMS - from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th gears. Then the car will just take off like a rocket! Like most Rx7's do

Do u think is bad saudering ECU?

I installed a new fuel filter, spark plugs, wires and belts. Car does run better, but did not correct problem. Also, I noticed @ high gears the clock will flicker a bit - In some cases, the clock on the dash will go out completely. I plan to change all of the fuses today. Any ideas?

search for 3800 rpm hesitation....
it appears to usually be bad grounding, or faulty injectors....
theres several lists with common factors to mess with....do that and you should find your answer

I've done this already. I followed and that's why I changed the spark plugs to NGK, got performance wires, changed fuel filter. I just orders HKS ground wires as well. I'm stuck.

the bounceing idle sounds like a bad BAC valve maybe.

i would worry less about spark plugs, fuel filters and all that jazz...and more about GROUNDING

the bouncing idle can be from the bac, a vac leak, or in some cases the tps.

My throttle bounces too, between 1000-1500 RPM. Haven't be able to drive her in ages, busted tranny - but mine did the same thing. And I am 99% positive that my secondaries are shot. If go more than 1/4 throttle after 3800, the car "bogs" incredibly, and it doesn't relly move. The fuel filter has been changed, so that isn't the problem.

Check your throttle plates, check injectors like mentioned above, and for the start up and idle other than what has already been said, make sure there is a pill in the pressure sensor. People replace the hose when it gets hard or old and forget the pill.

the problem should be in the tps if the car hesistats or the idie buonces between 2600 and 3500 or any variation in between that. any thing lower than that shoulb be a vac, if the problem is above 3500 its an injector or fuel

Cool. I am going to install the new TPS sensor and finish the ground. Also check to make sure the BAC is okay and also adjust the idle. If nothing changes I am going to get injectos. thanks guys!

my engine does the revving thing if the electrical connectors to the bac come loose and then make contact again. it's sort of a resetting type thing I think.

Guys, check this out. I premix, no cats and I dumped in 10 gallons of gas 93 OCTANE + about 6.5 oz TCW-3 oil. I added OCTANE BOOSTER (told that th eoil dilutes the octane) Well, after about 30 miles or so the HESITATION STOPPED COMPLETELY. I can now blast from 2nd - 3rd over 4K and NO hesitation - same for 4th -5th. Do you think perhaps I was adding to much oil? @ 1st I would dump 1oz per gallon of gas w/no octane boost.
