can't get her started!!
ok, i have an 88 turbo II and i can't get it started. I thought maybe it was a flooding situation, but i pulled the plugs and made sure they were clean and it still wouldn't start. I hooked up a spark plug outside of the engine block to test each spark plug wire. Each wire showed sufficient spark except for one, which only sparked very very slightly. The one that didn't spark very much is hooked to the leading coil. Is there a good possibility that i need a new leaing coil, or could it be something else? It also seems as though my starter turns slower than before, and the battery is fully charged. I appreciate any suggestions you guys may have, thanks.

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
Roll that bad boy off.
You usually either have spark or not at all, so I wouldnt worry to bad about that.
Try shooting some oil or tranny fluid down in those plugholes next time you get the plugs out, and consider some new plugs, those may be fouled if they have sat.
ALso check for fuel supply by removing the front of the 2 fuel hoses from the engine and turning on the switch.

I have found that my 87 tII is extremely sensitive to intake leaks. Anything from the AirFlow meter to the throttle body will cause a serious idle problem and/or no start. I would seggest taking the entire intake off and replacing the hose clamps and change your vaccumm lines.
I found 3 cracked intake hoses, now my car starts much easier and idles as smooth as a V6

Hey SaabGuy,
Which hoses did you find cracks in? Did you find any in the big air pipe that runs from the air flow meter to the turbo intake?
Thanks,
Douglas

Try these,
[*]Pull the fuse for the EGI, turn it over a few times at about 5 secounts a time (this puts oil in the rotors and creates compression, put egi back in and start it up
[*]Pull the trailing plugs and add some ATF, a few ounces will do, put the car in 5th gear and roll it back a few feet, go eat food, ply your playstation, your girl, whatever. Comeback a few hours later and start her up
[*]Find a 20' or longer strong rope and a freind and have him pull you around the block a few times and try poping the clutch in 2nd gear around 20-25mph
If those dont work, check for air leaks. [*]TID cracked, [*]not attached and sealed to the turbo[*]not sealed and attached to the MAF[*]Upper to Lower intake mainfold gasket seal is bad
vacume lines for boost control or intake have cracked or poped off
