can you remove AC compressor without pulling motor? SEARCHED

can you remove AC compressor without pulling motor? SEARCHED

hey there everyone, ive removed everything from the AC system sides the compressor, even the pulley for it. i can feel the 4 bolts that attach it to the bracket, but is it possible to remove it with the motor in the car? i have power steering too. thanks

Do you mean disconnecting or severing the high pressure hoses also?
If so, then it'll come out.
If not, it does not move very far from it's mounted position.

Once you remove the battery and disconnect the hoses and electrical, you can twist it around and pull it out forward without removing the PS pump... But it is not easy. If I had to do it again, I would probably just remove the PS pump first.

Without AC or PS I didn't have much trouble at all. The hardest part was the component only accessible by pulling it out of the firewall from inside the cabin.
