i just bought an 87 turbo 2, and the guy claims that the turbo was bored out. the only reason i care is that if it is not possible, i want to get a new turbo, plumbing, wastegate, and all the trimmings to match all of the other mods i have made.
a turbo could be "bored" i guess. I know that my wastegate was enlarged....which could be considered being bored out. Also, ive seen a turbo "bored" to house something as large as a P-Trim. Ask your friend in what way it was done. Sounds like hes just an idiot who watches too much TV though

all he told me was that it was bored out larger and a larger turbine was installed. i was skeptical ofcourse, so i came here for more info. i wasn't sure if it was even possible. i know it sounded logical that it could be bored out, but i didn't know if it was ever actually done

other performance mods. basically at this point, the turbo and the turbo plumbing along with the intercooler are the only factory parts on the engine. i just wanted to complete the project so that i would be able to move onto the cosmetics of my car
