TN Can someone help me identify this problem?

When its bouncing, my foot is constant on the accelerator. The problem isn't consistent. It does this about half the time, and runs perfectly fine the other half. I originally thought it was the TPS, but I've been messing with that and, like I said, I can get it to run perfect half of the time. I'm leaning towards ECU or wiring problem.

I'm gonna pull the ECU and resolder everything tomorrow, but I just thought I'd get some other input between now and then.

If you can't tell from the cluster, its an S4 Turbo. And all of its emissions/etc is removed.

How so have you messed with the tps? just playing with the screw and listening to the motor will do nothing, did you use the lights to test it? this is the only way to get it set right. If you havent done so with the lights i would suggest doing so first before messing with the computer. Seems tps related to me.

I attempted to adjust it with a multimeter, but it didn't seem to change the way it was acting. I haven't tried with the lights, yet. I just went and picked up some LEDs a little while ago, but I won't be able to use them until tomorrow.

My plan is to attempt adjusting the TPS with the lights, and if that doesn't work, then I'll move on to resoldering the ECU.

I'd probably check the ECU ground and engine grounds first. Sometimes corroded grounds can lead to poor signal from the TPS to the ECU.

It may also just be a bad TPS.

How about a video of it just idling and a second video of the throttle held at at a higher rpm (constant)? Throwing the two together is awfully confusing to see what the heck is going on.

Actually, it wouldn't idle at all when it was doing that.

On a side note, I think I may have got the tps adjusted properly, and I cleaned my ground connections, and it seems to be running properly. I'm going to tweak it a bit and drive it around today and see if I can get it to act up.

You can make your own TPS adjustment tester with a couple of wires and LED lights for < $5. Search for a how to.

I have rarely seen a TPS just randomly change it's adjustment..

I bet you have a vacuum leak. I am helping a local guy get his car straight, similar issue, and it is vacuum leaks...
