No start, cranks, has spark, has fuel(i think), and not AFM?
I have a 86 base model. It all started one night when it started up just fine like always(other then the usual flooding once in a while) I let it sit and warm up but then after i heard the RPM do its normal drop into idle it just steadily died out. I quickly jumped in cranked and nothing, figured it was flooded so I flipped my fuel cut off switch, cranked, flipped the switch again, and no start. A couple mins later after talking to a few friends who were around I just cranked and instant start up! So it sounds like a light flooding. But then IT DIED AGAIN! and no start again. So my friends help me push start it and it starts up and i drive around this time and head home. IT DOESN'T DIE this time. so the only difference was i drove it and i didnt. but now i get home and it doesnt start.... Figured its flooded again. So i take the plugs out and they were DRY! Obviously no fuel, so while diagnosing the problem I found my OE pump was dieing. It barely whined(went Weep, weeep, weeeeeep silent, weep) when I jumpered the yellow plug and keyed to on. So I replaced that and I can now hear the pump going. But it still doesnt start. I know one of my coolant seals is wearing out on the front rotor but the rear is fine. The thing I find weird is that it may still not have fuel? I unplugged the AFM and it didnt do the start and die and no difference in the smell of fuel was detected. Although I do think I smell less fuel then I normally do when its flooded.
