Can i safely remove the SUB ZERO Starter sys?

I live in CA. and my car apperently wasn't one. The previous owner had an engine fire. which basically melted the area where the ABS would be. I'm not even sure if my car had ABS... well it doesn't now. and the coolant tank for the Sub-zero system is partially melted. here is my question. the coolant hose, which goes to the Intake Mani. can i just remove it? i figure it would be ok just to pull it. since there is a valve which only opens when the oil reaches a cold enough temp. and since it is only open during start up, and since i live in Southern Cali. would it be ok? thanks guys.

Sub Zero Start was recalled by mazda (that was the one I think) and it was basically said to be worthless and should be removed.

Just buy a blockoff plate for it and remove it completely, problem solved

If you're going to do this, PLEASE use a block off plate.
boosted1205 found out the sub-zero valve on the lower intake manifold can LEAK and cause an intake vacuum leak, even though he has capped both vacuum ends.

CA models do not have the cold start assist. You must have an out of state model.

It would be illegal in CA to have the cold start assist. It must be removed.

It was not allowed in CA due to the increase in emissions. Even on cars imported from out of state, it was supposed to be removed.

Mazda also did send out a TSB as well suggesting that it be removed from all 49 state vehicles.

Yes, that is true.
It does not leak from the fittings.
It leaks from the valve itself!
