With some careful packing, I fit a set of FD wheels with stock size tires in the back of my FC. Two sitting in a V shape behind the seats, and the other two parallel with the hatch. It was a tight fit, but doable and with the hatch closed all the way too! Just slide the passenger seat up a couple notches and it'll work peachily.

I fit 4 FD wheels with tires and 4 new tires I was getting mounted in my FC. This was when I still had the rear strutbar but I had the bins removed. Hatch closed and everything.

How do you fit four tires in the hatch of an RX-7 AND close the hatch?
I'm talking stock tires with wheels.

I have ALWAYS had to put one riding shotgun.

For all intensive purposes, a 2+2 with the seats folded down is the same as a car with bins, right?

Can't put them vertical because they hit the roof when you roll them towards the front of the car... So you lay them flat.

One against one of the front seats, then you have to stagger the other one.
If you put a tire on top of the one that's touching the front seats, it will hit the hatch. You have t lean it.

Depends on if you have the "bins" cover in, and if you bother to have a spare tire in the car. My FB (I know, I know) regularly goes around with four rally tires (equivalent to two 215/65-15, two 185/65-15) in the back. And a floor jack. And two tool bags. And my helmet bag. And my backpack of spare clothing. And I have a rear-mounted battery, too...

I know someone who manages to put four tires in his FD for track days, and he has the Bose audio system installed, too. One may ride in the front, but I kind of doubt it, since his car is of the type where scratches, scuffs, and such are not tolerated.

For all intensive purposes

Can you put them in vertically on the back seat? Flip the front seats forward and put them in through the doors.

i fitted 4 tires with rims on in the hatch, and I had a passenger.

The tires are 215/55/16
I put my seat all the way forward and I had the passenger all the way back because my friend was a fat lazy *** who dont want to sit forward lol.

all i had in the back was a bag of tools with the bins still installd

The spare doesn't leave my car. If I'm carrying four wheels, it's because I went to go pick them up or drop them off somewhere, meaning one part of the trip was without the four wheels.

If I'm going to a track event, I'll take the flatbed...

Whoops. "intents and purposes"
Thanks for the heads up.
I had only heard the phrase spoken before.

Never thought of it like that. I'll have to try it that way. The 2+2 might be better than the binned cars if that works out.

BTW, since when did you get into FCs? You've always been a first genner as far as I remember.

well damn... I always assumed they would fit pretty easily.

I'm going to have a hell of a time bringing my 2 245/40/17 and 2 275/40/17 r-comps to auto-crosses next season...

we'll see how it goes

You can fit many things into the back of the FC. I had a alum. hood in the back with my seat shoved forward. Although one corner did stick out the back but barely did. I've had a full set of wheels that are 17's from a mustang cobra in the back. The hatchback can hold alot. HATCHBACK FTW!

I was able to fit 4 stock vert wheels with tires in my hatch. I think I had them laying flat, 2 on top of the other 2 or all 4 standing up. I don't quite remember.
