buzzer at redline

I searched and found nothing....

Every blue moon, when i go to redline, i get a buzzer sound off like 500 rpm before redline.....scares me to death, reason for the post is cause i never get an idiot light on and the car doesn't hesitate/shudder/or anything. what can it be?

The only real issue that my car has is an extremely rough idle, but i am hoping its the motor mounts that need to be replaced. other than that the car is in excellent condition.

Please help.
Thanks.

Oh, and just resently on "fast" starts for a stop upshifting between 1-2 and sometimes 2-3, the car is backfiring, and its only on the upshifts, not the downshifts.

Help me please.

ok... 1 Welcome to the forum... the buzzer is normal.. it's called the reline buzzer, and it's there to tell you when to shift... perfectly normal
you will hear that buzzer with three different things, low oil, low coolant, or your hitting redline, it's just a reminder to shift becuase rotary's rev so freely

Secondly... the backfiring.. is your car all stock? do you still have stock intake and exhaust? how loud is the backfire? i'm sure alot of other members will tell you just like i am about to... Backfireing is normal.. sometimes i even get 1-2foot flames shooting from the rear of my car.. dont ask me why, it just happens, and it's nothing to worry about

The buzzer tells you that you are approaching redline and that you should shift. Kind of like a shiftlight, but its sound instead. All our cars have them, sometimes they just don't work anymore.

Backfires could be cause by running too rich.

as for backfiring...when you shift up you let off the gas for a sec, a bunch of fuel gets dumped into the exhaust when the revs drop suddenly and if you haven't got working emissions you get backfires.

electrical systems in these cars stink...advanced for their time and complicated. some days my redline buzzer is 5500 rpm hehe others its 6800 (where it should be). occasionally during a drive the seatbelt light will also randomly come on...and yes, the connectors are plugged in and clean. chalk it up to FC demons hehe

Thats just bad connections or cold solder joints on the cluster.
