Buzzer help

The buzzer (audible alarm) on my 87 T2 goes on all the time. I dont have any alarm code on the idiot light. So I want to remove or muffel the buzzer. Where is it located ?

[signature removed... more than 10 lines fix it before it is deleted]

This is a bad idea, and if you tell me I'm wrong, you're going to get flamed. The buzzer is there for a reason, don't disable or muffle it. Most of us guys have done small mods to INCREASE the annoyace when it goes off (add another buzzer, what not). Why?

1) Shift buzzer
2) OH ****! buzzer

Theres only a few things that trip the buzzer
1) High-Rev. Its before the fuel cut rev limit, and just closing the powerband, so meh, its a good **** buzzer-- ricer's go for lights, we go for buzzer's. Meh.
2) Add coolant. Just like it says. Or you have a bubble in the coolant system, you'ld need to bleed the system to get rid of it. Basicaly whenever the buble hits the sensor, the buzzer goes off. Just the same, I did some radiator work, and took the car out for a drive. I made it 5 miles before the buzzer and add coolant light came on. Turned out the lower radiator hose came off. The add coolant light came on WAY before the engine temps even started to climb. This very well could have saved my engine because I don't always keep a close eye on the water temp gauge.
2) Add oil. Just like it says.

Neither of the above sensors go bad often. Its a rarity, but it can happen.

Fix the problem, not create new ones. Theres no one on the forum (at least no-one that has a clue) that will tell you how to disable or mufle the stock buzer, simply because its bad (REALLY ******* bad in terms of courtesy) to do so. Ask on other forums that don't give a **** what they tell you, they may help.

EDIT: Icemark can correct me on this, but I think maybe the hot-exhaust temp will sound the buzzer too. I haven't seen that light come on since my catalytic'd days, and I can't remember if the buzzer came with it.

--
I'm assuming your car can start, yes? If it does, when the Idiot lights shut off, the offending sensor's light should come on. With exception to the shift buzzer. It looks like you've done some pretty massive mods. I noticed the microtech. The idiot cluster's circuitry does not rely on the stock ECU, so there shouldn't be an issue there. During the microtech, or for that matter any of the mods, did you remove the oil level sender or water level sensor? Either of these wires being disconnected from the sensor will trip the circuit and cause the buzzer to go off.
This forum, however will help you diagnose what problems you may be having that don't let the buzzer shutup.

I remember rehasing this question in many a thread. I decided to search since you decided you didn't know how, or wanted to show incomeptence.

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ghlight=buzzer --
Buzzer info, where the buzzer is, where the sensors are, p/n's.

Guy almost flamed for wanting to remove buzzer

Deserte wants to test buzzer, just unplug the coolant sensor to check

Why the buzzer going off-- differences in guage sets affect buzzer trips

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ghlight=buzzer
Guy almost flamed (we're so nice at rx7club, not actually getting too pissed)... Anyhow, info to where the buzzer is (gauge set circuits), why you're a fool to disable it, RETed(FC know all), and AAroncake(Eletronic Know-all) adds some good info. How to fix, ect.

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ghlight=buzzer
The two oil sensors, which is which and which has the buzzer on the same circuit.

Idiot using caps to **** people off about his life is ruined because he had to drive his FC with the buzzer going off. Stupid ******. But a read on how not to fix the sensor, and how to shut up the coolant sensor trip.

Difference between beep and buzzer. Jrat know all.

That took less then ten minutes. Why not do some research next time?

Oh... and own3d.

The idiot lights all come on everytime before you start your car so you will notice if one is burnt out...

Hey Jr. you dont have to be a smart ***. Read the question closer before acting like a know it all punk. " I dont have any alarm code on the idiot light". For rookies like you the warning cluster flashes when you place the key to the on position. There also aren't warning lights lit. If you read the signature so close Im not talking about the 89 with the microtech. All fluid level have been double checked.

Mabey you should read the links you posted -

It's definatly the cpu buzzer

"did you remove the oil level sender or water level sensor? Either of these wires being disconnected from the sensor will trip the circuit and cause the buzzer to go off."

Hey that was helpful. Mabey a plug came loose.

Know it all? The Oil level sender and water level sender are both the gauge set buzzer, not the body CPU buzzer.

Also as I stated, the original buzzer and I wsn't aware that any of the idiot cluster was interfaced or dependent on the ECU. Which means the fact your microtech may have no bearing on the the buzzer or idiot cluster.

However, if the idiot cluster did interface and was dependent on the ECU, your removal of the ecu (which isn't in your sig) would suggest the failure of the idiot set. I still don't think its depenedant though.

Kenteth, I own 3 totally diferent RX7's. The one with all the electrical grimlins is the 87 T2. The Microtech is in a different car, the 89.

I'm just trying to sort out a few electrical problems.

I have swapped out the warning light display with the 88 and a spare and the problems are the same. So the warning display ain't the problem. I sent it to IceMark for a rebuild this morning anyway, the clock flickers and I want the darked out display window. Im not sure if the elecrtonics changed in 88 but when I place the key to the on position with the car off all the lights dont light up. Just "door" cause its open at the time, and brake. Another weird thing is every time I press the brake pedal the "stop" window lights up, and yes the resivor is full. I also found a loose wire that went to nothing today, so I looked at the 88 to see where it went. Dam, the previous owner removed the coolant level sensor. This is another unrelated problem because no alarm is showing for add coolant. I connected it to ground and drove around the block an I still get the 5 beep pattern mystery tone.

I have Identified 3 different alarms. High RPM Buzzer works. Tone after removing key, and the 5 beep pattern mystery tone.

Still scratching my head. The more I look the more problems I find.

Ok, the coolant level sensor circut is working properly. There's just a short delay. Now I need to get a new sensor.

One down, still need to fix the 5 beep pattern mystery tone.

5 beeper is porbably the power steering cpu. I'm kinda suprised that coolant sensor went bad, I guess it happens though.
