Broken Diff?
k lets get straight to the point, i put my car up on jack stands to see if my car has lsd, when i rotated my right wheel and the left one did not move an inch at all. do i have a broken lsd or messed up open diff? i know when u rotate a wheel on open-diff the other rotates in the oposite direction, and the lsd rotates at the same time. is it broken or somthing else... i dunno?

well it was'nt in gear, and forgot to say this but when im driving once i let off the gas it starts to make a clunkity noise also it goes away when i press on the brakes. it sounds like somthing it flopping around. the noise seems to be comming from the rear left wheel.

yeah its worn out. the clutch packs dont have enough friction to even overcome the weight of the wheel. itll still get you down the road just fine, but it will have no LSD protperties.

A normal open diff if the tranny is in neutral will not turn both wheels if it can turn the transmission it will just turn that. To make sure it's a tired lsd put the car in gear when you turn the wheel and make sure the other wheel doesn't turn in the opposite direction.
Check out the noise, could be the axle joints I suppose... it could be anything though, even your driveshaft hitting a heat shield... believe me, I've had that happen too many times to laugh about it... clank noise I always check the heat shield first.

I'd suspect a CV joint with the clankity sound from one side. Or a spider gear is floating around inside your diff housing It will work its way out eventually, maybe through the aluminum part of the housing! I had a Chevy 10 bolt rear come apart on a car, it looked like a grenade went off inside the rear end, holes everywhere. Have you looked at the rubber CV boot? Is it intact? A rip will give you a good clue that the grease is washed out.

does it have 4 piston front calipers and 5 lug wheels? if not then it isn't a GXL and thus has an open diff.
as Bob said, with a manual tranny in neutral it will spin the driveshaft not the other wheel since it takes less force to turn the tranny than the other wheel. even a tired posi diff will usually overcome the force of turning the driveshaft when it is in neutral so i am most positive you have an open diff.
check all your susp components and u-joints and CV joints for the clattering.
