Broke something. But what?
Ok for the past few months my water pump was leaking. After ordering 2 broken pumps (thanks guys) I finally got one that works that was even cheaper than the others. I had to keep driving the car to and from work and antifreeze is to expensive to waste so I used water. Almost overnight the temps dropped into the teen's. I finally replaced the water pump today and my hoses and radiator were frozen solid. So I thawed out the system and replaced my ****. So now my car runs fantastic but i have the following problems. Check engine light came on and my car doesn't warm up. As in not dropping below 1400rpm. Did I burn or screw up a sensor?
drill 6 holes around the thermostat... helps alot, with the air... Alot of buddies of mine has done it here... you could have f*cked up a sensor.. My 7 did that for a bit till i realized it was a sensor.... I just drove one today taht Im buyin probably tomorrow that has f*cked up sensors, and the guy dont know it and Im rippin it
yes sirr....
yes sirr....
sry..have you pulled any codes out? theres a multitude of **** that couldve gone wrong honestly.
check fluids and oil for contamination. any sensor couldve easily been messed up, especially the thermowax.

ewww, not good using straight water in cold climate... there is 4 freeze plugs in the back of the engine in front of the flywheel that could pop out if your cooling system freezes, only way to get to them is pulling the transmission or the engine out.

nah, if you blew one out it wouldn't hold much coolant at all, it would drain out quicker than you could put it in. your thermostat may have stuck open also, would be why it is running cool and not warming up. the water freezing could have forced the thermostat open manually and with the pintle down it could be cocked sideways, you may be able to see it down through the filler cap opening, kinda tough with the angles though, you can also remove the ECT sensor to get a better view of its condition.
i only said that so you wouldn't try and risk this again in the future, not a huge deal for us out here in the west but back east you guys have to be careful using water in the cooling system or a temporary fix may turn into a nightmare.

last freeze out plug job i saw was mixing with oil, so check your oil to see if it carries a milkshake appearance (to be safe). other than that.. pull some codes off the ecu.. thats the easiest way to find out whats wrong.
