Swered? Is that another term for drunk? 'Cause it sure reads like you are!

Either way, if it was your exhaust that was glowing, you need to figure out where.

It sounds to me like you burnt up a Catatylitc converter.. Nothing too major.

It was definately part of the exhaust that was glowing?

I'm still saying you have a clogged/shot cat or pre-cat.. The exhaust comes out of the engine on the passanger side. Those things are really only meant to last 100k miles, or about 7 years or so.. . If original, yours is 14 years old, and at worst, 19!

It's the cat. Get a new one or just throw a pipe in it's place.

^yep. if you're in a real pinch, you can pull it out, gut it (pound out the insides) and reinstall it. It's very ghetto, and it doesn't sound very good, but it will get you through for the time being..

Any exhaust shop should be able to replace a catalytic converter in a couple hours.

Ok well i just got the car back. it just got the cat replaced. But guess what... That's right it don't work. I let it idal a bit in the drive way. once the rmp droped below 1500 is started to sound funny. then it staled. So that's that. What could it be if not for the cat.

Ok well i found out what TPS mean. But I don't see how I Broke that, Let me restate what happend and what is wrong. I was driving just outside of the city with a friens, I wanted to show off and spin the tires. I reved it up to around 4000 and poped the clutch. The car moved but didn't want to move fast so I pushed more on the gas. It went. When we came to a stop and I took it out of gear it stalled. Well I got it home 6 red lights (six times stalling it) I got out and smelled buring. I looked underneth and the cat was red enough that you could use it as a reading light. LOL. So I had a new cat put in the next day. At the garage we had a but of truble starting it cause it was flooded. But any way it was a cold start and it didn' die so, I drove it home, my house is like 3 doors down. after it warmed up and the rpm droped below 1500 it made sounds like it was strugalling. Then it stalled. I drove it around the block and it staled ever time I took it out of gear and the rpm fell below 1500. Now the guy i bought it from is my bosse from work and he spent 6000 haveing it rebuilt painted new everthing so nothings that old in it. any thoughts??????

1. Compression test on the engine
2. Re-ground the all the wires
3. ???

Those are your options. I'm guessing your engine's blown. You have learned a valuable lesson, never show off in front of anyone.

I wouldn't think your engine is done. I'm not totally sure so I would need somebody to back me up, but isn't there an air pump that goes to the cat to burn the extra fuel? What if the airpump line got disconnnected? Wouldn't that make the cat get really hot? Or am I just an idiot?

the catalytic converter should have a steel pipe going out of it.and under the car towards the front..if you pop your hood and stand in the front of the car at the front passenger corner look towards the space behind the engine and a little to the left..you should see the steel pipe that comes from the cat...(try and set idle too..)..you should really be researchin this stuff..look into posts in second generation..READ THEM...they are chocked full of info..and you should be spendin 20 bucks on a manual and reading that..jesus..6k..and now you have it..i'm not sayin nothin..screw it..drive like an *** .. you desrve the engine dilemma!

Did the Comprestion test. Heat are the options, rebuilt this moter or get a second rebuilt moter. So nows hears my question, is it work me puting 5000 into or should i get a new car. I do need a car. If i go aheaed with the fix they'll give me a loner, if i buy a new one, i'll have a new one. Should I get a winter car and let this one sit till spring?

Well they said that they found a second engion that i could buy for 1000 but it sat for over a year so the need to do the compretion test on it. and they can drop it in for 12-1500. I think that's what I'm going to do. Oh god i feel so dumb let that be a lession to you done't hurt your cars be nice to them.
