Sounds like the vacuum boster may have a leak. I'd check the vacuum line that goes to it. This is especially true of the motor mounts are broken.

More than $1?
Seriously...find out what's wrong first.
If the brakes just need to be bled, then minimally it's a quart of brake fluid and help from a friend.
If this problem has been around a while, I would worry about corroded internals from all the moisture sitting in the brake fluid.
If it's brake rotors or brake pads, then they need to be replaced.
I dunno how much stuff like this cost in your area, but I'd be shooting in the dark trying to give you an estimate on price.
eBay stuff is like $20 per brake rotor and maybe another $40 for brake pads?
If it's a vacuum leak to the brake booster, just replace the hose or the clamp.
Relatively cheap and inexpensive.
If it's the brake master cylinder, then it needs to be rebuilt or replaced (recommended over rebuilding).
Depending on your model, brake master cylinder rebuild kits or replacements vary in price.
Bottom line?
Find out what's wrong first, then go pricing parts locally.

Okay, let's try and start from the top...
Can you locate the brake fluid reservior under the hood?
What color is the brake fluid in the reservior?
Is it light golden color honey colored?
Or is it dark and almost black?
If it's black, stick you fingers in it.
Does it feel slimey?
If the brake fluid is dark and slimey, you should bleed the entire system and get fresh fluid in.

So that's why they ask in the above post to give some hints about the car. I'd be especially interested in how long the condition has existed and if the brakes had worked good recently.

Well I realized my brake fluid was running low and there were no signs of leaking anywhere so my mechanic came to a conclusion that it was the slave cylinder(brake fluid was burning/evaporating slowly)
So what I'm asking is where can I find the slave cylinder for a great price?

The slave cylinder is for the clutch. There is a master cylinder under the hood for the clutch and one for the brake. Do you know which one is which?
If the slave cylinder for the clutch is leaking, I would replace the slave, the master and the hydraulic hose.

Look over in the "Parts for sale/wanted" section. There are a good number of master cylinders & boosters around.
However, for a master cylinder, it's fairly cheap to get a reman product from your local parts store. Or, you can rebuild your existing one.
