Get the regular spring. The stiff spring is wwaaaaayyyy too stiff, as someone on the other forum put it.

unless you're running a lot of boost, most of these aftermarket BOV's are pointless...

with that said, I prefer the TIAL BOV

HKS!

I have the HKS SSQV on my Turbo II and it sounds great, looks great, is great.

Really aggressive blow off sound, good looks, extremely high quality. Spend the extra $$$ and go with the HKS.

If anyone wants loud, air escaping sound instead of whistling sound from HKS SSQ BOV, you can get a purple insert for it. I loved the sound but it's not as noticeable or as loud as the whistling sound, so I went back with stock insert on my ex-Supra. It sure as hell sounded nice as hell and hurted my ears when I was running 2 of them welded on each side of FMIC when I was running T-78

My car has Greddy Type-S. I like the sound but it's too quiet... I guess I'm still too used to two HKS SSQ BOVs :p

I have a Blitz Super Sound bov on my 89 TII Conv and the sound is great and the quality is excellent. Plus, you get an extra filter in order to change the bov's sound. At 1 bar boost this bov is loud but in my friend's Opel Calibra the sound is louder.

I'm about to picked up an 87 T2 with an 89 engine and is stock except for K&N filter and a Racing Beat cat back with Bonez cat. I'm of the impression that I should just stick with the stock BOV after reading all these posts, but I hear the stock wastegates tend to fail - any suggestions?

Thanks!

don't get the hks one it sounds like sh#t. they have a good design but their sound is like a bird chirp. i would either go with the apex or the blitz. they are the loudest with the best design qaulity.

I thought running open air BOV is very bad for FC's

There is a name missing from every post, and yes I know they are damn near impossible to get stateside but: Trust. IMHO Trust is probably the beat-all company for just about everything related to just about any car. On the D1 circuit Trust is one of the #1 names you hear.

Which BOV would be best for doing the Eaton M90 supercharging mod posted? Or in that case, which BOV AND Bypass Valve would be best?

Not really, all it does it release measured air and well, makes you run a little rich for an instant. This can cause some backfiring and maybe some flames but, not many FC owners complain about that.

Trust = GReddy over here. As far as I know, a GReddy dealer can get any part available in Japan.

I have a Tomei BOV, originally a drop in for a R32 GT-R in the stock location. I have yet to find a better sounding BOV. We had to create a custom flange for it, but it was worth the trouble.

IMHO the RFL is loud, but it sounds hollow and doesn't have a lot of ooomph to it, kinda reminds me of a sneezing sound. The Tomei is as loud as the RFL, but sounds like someone hit the bass boost on it and gives it a very full sound.

These BOV's are EXTREMELY rare, there were only two in the states that I know of, mine, and one my partner sold to a customer which was subsequently destroyed in an engine fire.

I have heard a lot of different BOVs, and I may be biased, but I can't find any that sound as remotely good as the Tomei does.

I don't have any sound clips of it... but I'll see if I can rig up something to record if people are interested.
