If you have a totaled TII( like me) and you have a GTUs (like me) do the swap......but if you are going to go out of your way to find parts....and all that Bullshit then I say; It is not worth it. Do the rebuild if it needs it...then do drivetrain....clutch, lilghtweight flywheel....then suspension....then external mods....

you will be so much happier with a turbo swap, its so much more fun to have torque and a lot more horsepower. coupled with the 4.3 diff, and its like it was meant to be. screw the purists!!!

What you were told was that the DRIVELINE won't bolt up to the the motor, and that's true, it won't. The NA transmission however does bolt right up to the 13BT(same exact bolt pattern) and as long as you use the NA driveshaft, differential, and halfshafts, you're fine. But you can't mix-and-match. For example, you can't use the GTUs tranny with the turbo driveshaft and the turbo diffy and halfshafts. The reason being the driveshaft is the incorrect length to reach the tranmission and differential. Got it?

as for the durability of the NA trans, ive been using it with my T2 motor from the start, and ive had no problems at all. its seen some very hard launches too.

If its going to ba a just for fun car, and you have easy access to the parts then do the turbo swap, otherwise just do the rebuild. While it won't be as fast as a modified T-II, NA's can still be quite fast. Also, its far cheaper and easier to modify a NA than a turbo.
