if your talking about the unflooding procedure - you need the innermost fuse on the engine fuse box (this is for S5 for sure, not sure on the location of the S4 fuse - you can check the free FSM available online)

If you mean the actual fuel pump plug - its on the rear driver's shocktower.

If you want to temporarily disable the fuel pump, it's far easier to simply reach under the dash and unplug the fuel pump circuit opening relay. It's by the steering column and has a yellow plug.

on a s4 the fuses for the egi are under the hood and the ones you would need to pull are the 2 closest to the engine. one is red and one is green, if they're still the same ones the car came with. should say EGI and the other INJECTOR.

thanks nzconvertible, what im trying is to disable the fuel pump and then start it instead of pulling the egi fuse and not having spark... id go try it now but its a freakin 25 degrees outside so i might just wait till it warms up so the car wont have much trouble starting and staying started..... that is if i can even get it running.. thanks guys

The answer to the QUESTION...is the fuel pump plug is under the carpet on the aft side of the left rear strut tower.

Anyone want to explain to me how pulling the fuse in the engine bay disables the pump? Key word: PUMP. No not injectors, PUMP. No. Not this that and the other. PUMP. No, not ignition. PUMP is the KEY WORD. Similar to the one used in the original QUESTION.

When you find the relay I mentioned, if you cut the middle wire on the plug (black/white) and put a switch inline, you'll have a fuel pump kill switch that'll do exactly what you want quickly and easily whenever you want.

If you need to use the switch frequently to start the car, then you most likely have leaky injectors, low compression, or both.

NOte: I was just being a bit testy in my earlier post, so ignore it. NZ is right about cutting and installing the cut switch at the black/white wire at the relay under the steering column. I've done it before using a switch and long wires from the fuel pump connector. That is not the best way of doing things. Toooooo much wire/resistance etc.

But the fuel pumps plug is under the carpet on the backside of the left strut tower. Difficult to get your hands on the first time you disconnect it.
