boost problems

I just did a turbo swap in my 88 N/A and i was wondering at what rpm should the car start boost and when it will reach full boost.Im not hitting boost until 37k and full boosting at 43k.I had the hot side exhaust runner and wastegate ported, 2.5 full exhaust

god damn, not getting boost untill 37,000 rpm, and not getting full boost till 43,000 rpm, holy crap, what are you using for an e-shaft? that has got to be some mad tyte y0!!! super duper tytanium gold platinum stuff to take dem mad rpmzzz yo!

P.S. all in good fun, i'd probally look into a pre-turbo exhaust leak or perhaps a cracked turbine housing on the turbo, i've seen them cracked where they allow exhaust around the turbine causing a late spool

i think you mean 3.7k and 4.3k. Either way, I don't hit boost that late. Maybe around 3k?

That's NORMAL, especially if we're talking about a Zenki 13BT.

Did you expect the turbo to boost off idle???

no i knew it wouldnt boost right off idle, the exhaust has to build up pressure, but i thought it would start building boost around 2500rpms

It should *start* to build pressure at around that RPM, but there's a lot of variables that can affect it.
For a dead stock engine and turbo, it's supposed to start building boost at that RPM.
Once you start to change the intake, exhaust, etc., all bets are off.

Zenki with 2.5in exhoust and dp no cats 2 chamberd mufflers and a mighty mid pipe leak. Stock TID, FMIC 3in pipe hot and cold side, Ported polished knifed and flapper moded TB, No emishions.

Stock boost 6psi creaps to 6.5 I reach full boost at 2.3krpm in 2nd+ gears and around 3.5/4k in first gear if I punch it off the line. But then your full boost into second +++. If I launch it im at 6psi befor tires hook up if I want.

OK, then what can i do to make it start to boost sooner.Im getting a microtech and 720cc secondaries next month and maybe a turbo upgrade( all depends on the cash flow). The motor is completely stock except for the exhaust and custom intake.

Once the Microtech & the 720's are in ant tuned, even a cheap manual boost controller will push up the boost sooner & higher.

I put in a MBC with a solenoid bypass so I can switch the boost up or down from the console.
