Boost Leak

Hi Everyone,
Im new to the forum and i have a question to ask about my FC.

I recently got my FC imported from Japan to australia. And shes awesome hehe but i have a problem.
when i drive her from about 3,500 RPM i get a high pitched noise, which i figured its a boost leak. i have checked the vacuum hoses i could see, some had slight cracks and one was split.i have replaced them. also when my car hits boost my stock gauge doesnt work. its sits on the -20 line. So i disconneted the boost gauge thinking that the leak might be behind the dash. but no luck.
I was wondering where i could check to solve the problem? and if anyother FC owners have come across something similar.

Cheers

CHECK ALL YOUR INTERCOOLER HOSES!!! Especially the big fat intercooler hoses. I had taken my intercooler off to do some routine maintenance and forgotten to tighten the intercooler pipe on the right side of the intercooler. My boost was coming on way to early and i couldnt get nearly as much boost as i am supposed to. I also had that high pitched whistle. It sounded like a semi truck's turbo...lol! So i got under there and started looking for what was screwed up, and sure enough i had left one of the IC hoses off. Check the hose that goes from IC to your throttle body, IC to turbo and those little ones on the backside of your intercooler. hope that helps man.

Depending on your exhaust that may also be somewhat normal. My FC's turbo has been pretty loud since I got it. Then again.. maybe I've had a leak since I got it, but I doubt that, boosting fine.

FC's are really not prone to boost leaks just keep all your IC connections tight and that your wastegate is functioning properly

well it says on page 4b-56 of the FSM that you can disconnect the hose from the wastegate and connect a pressure tester to the wastegate and apply 68.7 kPa and check that the rod moves. If you dont have a pressure tester i dont how else to test it.
