boost at idle

hi,
what do you guys boost at idle?
My boost gauge used to show -0.6 bar at idle before.

Now it says -0.4 bar. Would that be a vaccum leak cuz my idle really sucks rite now.

Boost is above zero. Below that is vacuum.

That definitely sounds like a vac leak.

RETed gave these as a general idea of what you should look for:

20" to 18" for stock ports
18" to 16" for mild street port
16" to 14" for aggressive street port
14" to 10" for bridge port

Vacuum measured in inches of mercury (inHg). Have a look at your gauge.

Taking those words at face value......then you need to determine if the boost/sensor is giving an output to the ECU. The signal is split off from the boost sensor to the gauge and the ECU. Lack of one means the other is probably disfunctional also.

the stock guage is not very useful, but like hailers said you should get it working. The guage will max out if you are above like 8 psi, and who knows how to read mmhg anyways. Id say get it working, and just use your aftermarket to get readings from. Plus any non-functional guage just irks me.
