bogging down

I have an 87 TII and my car kind of seems to bog down. like it has more power than its letting out or something. What could cause this? Don't think it has anything to do with boost as I am seeing what I should. Oh and I just have an intake and changed the plugs and oil. Thanks.

Cats? Bastards are stupid and not worth the time for an N/a guy like myself, watch for spikes if you remove them though, don't want to blow your engine now.

My boost wouldn't be as high as it should be if it was the cats right? My boost now is good, so the problem shouldn't have anything to do with my turbo or boost at all, right?

It could be the way that you are driving. You are used to your previous NA with 6-ports. You need to keep the turbo spooled up, otherwise all you are left with is basically the same engine as your NA but with less compression, no 6-ports, more vehicle weight, and more drivetrain loss.

Well it does like bog down when I am at a stop. Like yesterday I had the clutch pushed down and was stopped. I hit the gas and it took it a good 2 seconds for the rpms to respond. It does thi sometimes. Could it be the fuel filter or something else?

Oh, so it's more of a hesitation that manifests intermittently?

It could be your bald tires losing traction at the light. J/K

Seriously, I have no idea what would do that. Maybe one of our 2Gen troubleshooting gurus can help?

mine does that too..(N/A so its not JUST ur turbo car...) i always thought that it had something to do with the flywheel...are you running the stock flywheel? becuase 28lbs is a LOT of weight to begin pulling at 750 rpm w/ our rotaries. might be fuel system or throttle body too..

Ya I have the stock flywheel, but it feels like something must be wrong though, to me at least.

Check your TID for cracks. That causes hesitation but the idle usually stays smooth.

This sentence makes no sense. Are you calling us TII guys bastards? That would seem to go inline with your "RETed doesn't know anything about Rx-7's" quote. I suggest you watch what you say and who you disrespect, newbie.

Sounds to me like he was refering to the catalytic convertor. How would you remove someone who drives a turbo car.

This problem sounds like it COULD be the clutch. You leave the red light and the RPMs go up but kinda sluggish but the car dosen't feel as fast as it should be. Sounds like a slipping clutch.

Might be the clutch, I know mine is bad. Didn't really know it would cause hesitation but that could be it.

I need to go back to school? Your post is completely incomprehensible. Your english skills are a joke; it makes me wonder if you even gradded.
Forgive me for interpretting your poor grammar wrong; it is why I asked for clarification. It also did not require an insult.
If your car needs you to work on it all the time, there is something wrong with it. Cars should require maintenance, not constant work.
And I apologise for offerring help to those who don't know the difference between a TII and a GTU. What a ***** I am.

Actually apologise is the correct English language spelling. Apologize is the incorrect American spelling!
