bogging down
bogging down
I have an 87 TII and my car kind of seems to bog down. like it has more power than its letting out or something. What could cause this? Don't think it has anything to do with boost as I am seeing what I should. Oh and I just have an intake and changed the plugs and oil. Thanks.
It could be the way that you are driving. You are used to your previous NA with 6-ports. You need to keep the turbo spooled up, otherwise all you are left with is basically the same engine as your NA but with less compression, no 6-ports, more vehicle weight, and more drivetrain loss.
Well it does like bog down when I am at a stop. Like yesterday I had the clutch pushed down and was stopped. I hit the gas and it took it a good 2 seconds for the rpms to respond. It does thi sometimes. Could it be the fuel filter or something else?

It could be your bald tires losing traction at the light.
J/KSeriously, I have no idea what would do that. Maybe one of our 2Gen troubleshooting gurus can help?

mine does that too..(N/A so its not JUST ur turbo car...) i always thought that it had something to do with the flywheel...are you running the stock flywheel? becuase 28lbs is a LOT of weight to begin pulling at 750 rpm w/ our rotaries. might be fuel system or throttle body too..

This problem sounds like it COULD be the clutch. You leave the red light and the RPMs go up but kinda sluggish but the car dosen't feel as fast as it should be. Sounds like a slipping clutch.
I am calling cats bastards you tard. If you can't read go to school don't pick on me. And sorry if I am not online 24/7 posting crap like "duh...what is the difference between a GTU and Turbo II?" Sorry man, I have a car that needs me and I like to work on it. Don't get me wrong I love this forum and everything but I can't stand when Ted tells people to search. Aight?

Forgive me for interpretting your poor grammar wrong; it is why I asked for clarification. It also did not require an insult.
If your car needs you to work on it all the time, there is something wrong with it. Cars should require maintenance, not constant work.
And I apologise for offerring help to those who don't know the difference between a TII and a GTU. What a ***** I am.
