The S4 base isn't a P.O.S. It's uber light...So it probably out-runs my GXL by a bit even with my pathetic aluminum flywheel. So it's actually pretty good, even if it is 4-Lug.
Edit: Alright, I'll confess. I enjoy power windows, adjustable suspension and power steering.

Just in case you didn't know, the AAS had 3 settings, only 2 were user selectable. and upon hard acceleration or braking, it activated the next firmest setting. At least thats what it claims in the user manual.

Would be cool if you could adjust the timing of each... Do they make aftermarket struts that are AAS compatible? They should.. its a cool idea... if only the advanced driver could have more in-cockpit control.
all of this info on the AAS is truly fascinating... but to the thread starter, if you want to find out if your hood is aluminum or not, do the magnet test: get a good magnet, notice how it sticks to the fender, then try the hood. Same = steel, not sticking? You've got aluminum!
