blue smoke

If a oil seal is bad how much blue smoke will come out?

If I rev it past 4Kish blue smoke shoots out but otherwise theres no smoke also it backfire's

i have the same thing going on mine when i rev it up it smokes like crazy, then when it lets off it pops and smoke comes out as well, i read on another post it being the oil controle seal (think that's what it's called) being the cause of all the smoke......i'm still trying to find the damn thing on my engine. need help as well. going to search more and hopefully find the answer tonight. goodluck on your search as well!!

haha yup that's exactly how mine is going! lol my poor dogs are coughing smoke when i'm back there!! lol

question, where are the oil seals located on these cars? i got a 87 and learning these engines so hope it dosnt sound so noobish! thanks in advance!

They are inside the motor. If this is your problem its time for a rebuild.

if you do a search youll find alot of temporary fixes like stop smoke and stuff other people have tried but i dont recommend it.

oh hell time for a rebuild then! ....since i'd be in there i could go take it over to the RX7.com shop and get a port job, only a few miles down the road....or i could do this myself and learn a new skill. i'll search for engine rebuilds and do it myself if it dosnt require much money to do this all. REALLY appriciate all the help!!

Mines about half that much

On starts its white

on high high revs holding and down reving its really dark blue just floods our mobile homes carport (driveway with roof)

it really depends on how high its run out before it smokes because they have oil injectors the best way to tell is pull out the dip stick and check if it smells like gas, if it does than the oil rings are probly gone but if it doesnt than i would look into checking the oil injection system.

Now I dont feel so bad about mine smoking. Mine smokes a bit when Im sitting still, not under load reving, but driving it doesnt smoke hardly at all.
