Talking Blog. The FC3S blog of iSP33D-for-J3SUS

I took this idea from iceblue, check his blog, HERE.

January 20th, 2006

Let's start in the past. I acquired my first car, a 1988 Mazda RX-7 for Christmas in 2004. I paid $3,200 for it. (Or my folks did, it was a gift.) The guy had full documentation - it was actually his wife's car, she bought it in 1989 with just a few thousand miles on it. She has been the only owner since.

The paperwork shows that the guy and his wife put a 2.25" exhaust on the thing just a year before I got it. (Only name found on the thing was "Bonez".) Rotary Performance just put in a rebuilt engine with 16,000 miles on it. 198,000 miles showing on the odometer.

I recently installed an aftermarket radio.
WRITEUP: https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/my-aftermarket-stereo-radio-writeup-479967/

I'm planning on installing a custom CAI in the near future, and then I'm working on tuning the suspension for some light autocrossing. I have my eye on Tokico shocks with Eibach springs and of course, replacement of all bushings.

Here she is:

This being my first car, I really don't know much of what I'm doing - I'm just learning as I go.

That's all for now. (Boring I know, but whatcha gonna do?)

Sayonara,

Nice looking car.

Check under it and take a gander and then compare the exhaust to pics on rx7.com.

That answers all usually.

Nah. Don't think of it too theologically. I just mean, I drive / race for Jesus. Speeding really isn't cool, lots of innocent people die because idiots speed around the streets trying to look "pro" in their ricer civics. Obey the law, kiddies. I am a Christian, so, that should clear up the confusion - it's not a sarcastic, I speed for Jesus.

And yes, please subscribe and follow my progress, I won't be updating too often because I am just another broke FC owner but I should have enough money to build my CAI by next month and I'll update and include lots of pics, etc.

Thanks,
iSP33D-for-J3SUS

I must say speed4jesus thats a nice example of a 18 year old car no matter what it is! But the fact that it is a fc, well that just makes ir darn well pleasing. I will agree too, that speed does kill. Luckily, when I used to rip the streets in some of my previous 7's I never hurt myself or more importantly anyone else.

So i used to tell myself that I was licky to be alive after all of the stupid things I did. But its not luck. Its fate. I am not a christian but I do believe in a higher power, and i am here to tell youthat there is one.

I am glad to see that you got yourself a very clean fc. And I am glad you are posting positive things too. I hope you have alot of good memories to share down the road about your fc and the people you meet on this forum too.

I intended it to be trendy. It is allot easier then following someone that creates a new thread on each project.

The camera doesn't even capture the true beauty of this paint job. In direct sunlight it looks like steel / platinum silver and then as less light strokes it you see more blue. It also has pearl mixed in.

Here's a direct sunlight shot.

The previous owner painted it but I don't know when, it may be in the huge stack of receipts and bills he had with the car but I haven't looked through it all yet - just skimmed the finer points.

I also found out that it's actually a 50mm (roughly 2 inches) exhaust system - not sure where I heard / read 2.25". (Assuming I calculated right - I'm too lazy to just get a measuring tape and see for myself... )

You know you don’t always need money to mod your car. Sometimes it just takes some uniqueness and creativity.

I agree - here are two "mods" I recently did at no cost to myself.

One, I made a seat for my amplifier in the rear - passenger side bin. It needs stereo foam around the edges (because the bins are busted up pretty bad) but otherwise, it looks great and gives it a personal feel.

Then, I got a racing harness from a friend and installed that using the metal underneath the bins directly behind the driver's seat. It works great - though I haven't tested it, so I use the stock seatbelt as well. (Plus I need a roll cage to install the upper harness.

Heck, some may call that rice but I say, "My car!" I can do whatever I like to it!

Two fun "mods".

Oh and my stereo!

Here is a cheep couple HP mod if you want. Switch to a TII AFM and 550cc Secondarys. Helps lean it out and 550s prevent to lean under high rpm, it gets a lean shot with 460s in there.
