Best injectors for 350whp 6port S5 turbo

Hi, will denso 850cc primaries/secondaries handle 350whp on a rx7 s5 6 port turbo with T04b turbo? If no...what injector size is recommended? I will be tuning with an emanage ultimate with functioning 5th/6th ports? Thanks

Yes, but duty will be in the 90% or so which means 1000CC secondaries would be a better choice.

Do you think 4x Bosch 2200cc is overkill for 300-350whp on 93 octane? Will this effect me idle? Here is the item listed below.

are you planning on running 1000 horsepower? then yeah, it is kind of overkill and will be harder to control and keep the idle smooth.

Like Insightful said it is overkill for that horsepower goal unless you plan on upgrading again later down the road. However with a lot of newer ECU's it is very manageable and idle is not a problem. I am not sure about the ECU you mentioned though. I would see if people that use your ECU have any issues with the idle with bigger injectors and let that be your guide. That is only if you plan on upgrading in the future as well. I am running 720/1000 cc on mine. I haven't dyno'ed it since I have fixed some issues yet so I am not sure what hp I am making. I figure I am in that ballpark though. Hopefully in the 350-400 ballpark. If you love horsepower as most of us do. It may be worthwhile to at least get higher secondaries. That way if you upgrade you are good. I kind of wish I went bigger secondaries though as I would like more power one day when my wallet and heart is in to it. LOL. Research is always good so it does not cost your more in the long run.

4x 2200cc is a ridiculous amount of fuel unless you are running E85 or natural gas. And you will definitely have idle and light load problems.

A set of stock sized primaries with 1000CC secondaries is plenty of fuel for 300 - 350HP and easy to control.

This may blow some minds but over the past few years I have been in the habit running smaller primaries, replacing them with the 460CC injectors from the RX-8. A much newer modern injector with a way better spray pattern and the smaller size gives a lot better resolution at light loads. Means staging the secondaries a little sooner under boost, of course.

Stock 550 and 1000 sec injectors will put him very close to the 350 rwhp limit IMO. I had 850/1200, on a stock port 13B, 40 base fpr, and was hitting 90% duty cycle on a T04S at 16psi (same setup made 330 at 11psi), at 11-10.8 afr WOT

LOL thanks guys. I figured it's overkill but the price isn't that bad lol =P Have ya'll hear of TRE injectors? Apparently they make like Denso style injectors for different applications.

That actually sounds like a good idea too. Are the Rx8 injectors direct plug in play for the S5 rx7?

If you have an ecu that allows you to control/adjust your fuel map, I would run stock 550 on the pri, and 2200 on the sec. That setup should be good up to 500RWHP (80% DC/40 base FPR).

Been running power fc for a little while and only changed injector sizes once but never up to anything that large(2000cc).

isnt it going to be more difficult to tune those since there would be less resolution? When would you need 4x 2000cc? E90 on half bridge?

Just bringing it up to make sure you’d have a clean idle and smooth powerband. Totally correct me if I’m wrong.

I don't think the emanage can handle that large of an injector size difference since it really is modifying the inputs and outputs of the stock ECU. Your best bet is going to be to use a slightly larger primary (like 680cc or 720cc) and then the 1000CC or 1200CC secondaries.

With more advanced ECUs you can do more interesting injector combinations.

Funny story. Years ago turning a turbo GSL-SE on a Megasquirt the primary duty cycle was very high approaching boost. Like 99%. Checked fuel pressure, it was fine. So just kept tuning but adjusted the injector staging to keep the primary duty sane. Car drove well, abit with high primary duty cycle and a much lower stage point (around 2000 RPM or something). My suspicion that the primary injectors were the wrong size was confirmed when the owner of the car looked up the part number and found they were something like 185CC or 200CC from an old Toyota Supra.

Wow that's crazy. That can be disastrous if you didn't catch that. Have you heard of TRE performance injectors?

Never heard of TRE but looking at the website is looks like they are just reselling standard Bosch and Denso injectors. Probably drilling them out to larger sizes, balancing them, and selling them as sets.

For 600HP or E85, sure.

That is a BIG size difference in injector though, so make sure your EMS can handle it. Anything that piggybacks the stock ECU will not be able to control that combination.

If you are going for 300-350HP, then 2 x 550CC, 2 x 1000CC. Done.

Hey Aaron thanks for the advice. I don't have 550cc but I do have an extra pair of 460cc that I planned to get cleaned and tested. Will 460cc and 1000cc be enough for 300hp? I will be using a haltech sport 1000. I ditched my piggyback a while back lol
