BDC's FC3S Build Thread (July 2010)
The 15 in place of the 10 was making the pump run too slow and too low a pressure to hit the same target AFR's, making the alcohol system lag a lot.
If I did water, I'd have to use a separate system.

couldn't you just use a simple boost based on/off water injection system? Have it set to come on at like 10psi and flow the same amount of water all the time. No need to get complicated just help bring the temps down
Actually, since you've brought it up, I've been working on trying to design something just like that - simple, comes on at x boost per adjustable pressure switch, and remains on. I may give it a whirl sometime as a before/after deal but I'm not ready to yet.
Since you've brought it up, I am a fan of folks doing WI in whatever form they can. I think even a simple WI system would probably save a lot of motors from an early grenading death.

I know coolingmist currently offers a kit that does just this, simple boost based switch, the stage 1 or stage 1+tank

actually if you want I've got a coolingmist varicool kit that I'm trying to get rid of, all you would need is the boost switch

I appreciate the offer but someone else in greater need could make better use of it. Shouldn't have any problems selling it.
My first WI system is almost complete. Just need a pump. Got everything else to give it a try on someone's car.

BDC, you dont need a pump. just presurize the tank, and the water will come out. make sure you put in a 5 psi or 10 psi check valve so it isnt dripping in there at 1 psi.
know what i mean? no pump. the turbo itself is a pump so take a boost line, plumb it to a water tank that holds pressure, and the water will flow right on out.
also for various reasons, this will only work pre turbo. give it a shot man.

Yep, I'm familiar with the concept. I'd rather give this way a whirl. Thanks for the input, though.

just another note of congratulations for possibly achieving something that might not have been done before...
27 psi on pumpgas (and of course meth)
wow Brian
howard
Thank you. Hope to dyno soon and get it to 30psi if it'll make it there. That's one of two of my goals. The other is to break 500 to the wheels which I feel pretty good I've already done.
