Question Banjo bolt Puls. Damper fix question

I received the banjo bolt from Summit racing today, and it appears to be aluminum. I was wondering if I got the right part. I got the part # from this forum. The bolt is blue. Has anyone used one of these? I'm thinking that if it's an aluminum bolt that I should use the aluminum washers that came with it. I'm an electrician, and I've seen what happens when aluminum and copper touch each other (corrosion city) Any intelligent input would be appreciated. Thanks

Sure, a "battery" is just two dissimilar metals with an electrolyte (something acidic).
You do have a valid concern, but...

1) The bolt is anodized. Anodizing is supposed to help prevent corrosion, since anodizing itself is a controlled form of oxidation of the aluminum.

2) The rail is grounded to the rest of the chassis, through the engine block. If we were to "float" the rail, corrosion is much more accelerated - notice the sunroof and rear hatch metal frame tends to rust faster? This is due to both pieces being isolated from the rest of the chassis.

I wouldn't worry about it.

So do you think I should get the copper washers? or would the aluminum washers work?

Either or, but I'm partial to copper ones.

Don't tighten the banjo bolt too tight on the rail or else you'll break it very easily. I broke mine that way and went to the dealer to buy a new PD Good luck!

Use the copper washers as they are there to "Crush" as you tighten and will seal any leaks. Not sure about the corrosion......too early on a Saturday morning.
