bad or really bad?

Ok my cars been running ok and I started to notice a few drops of coolant coming from the seam where clutch is. Last few days when I redline her I notice significantly more coolant coming from the same area. I'd say normally it drips about 1/4 cup of coolant per day but after redlining it can double or triple the amount.

The question is, is it time for a rebuild or is there a gasket where the engine and bell housing meet that needs to be changed?

Thanks!

There's a coolant hose that goes to the firewall right above where the tranny and engine connect. I'd check that.

Most likely the infamous heater hose or some other coolant line, start hunting around for the source of the leak.

There are a three possible leaks that would be good leaks to have

1) Heater core hose from block to core located below the oil filter
2) Heater core hose from core to rad located on firewall passenger side
3) Nipple ontop of rear plate (probably the culprit)

I have the same problem! I found a little coolant hose below the top throttle body to be leaking. It leaked down to the trans. While your there replace all other hose's as well!

I'd look at the hose all these guys are mentioning to you. Every time I've seen a leak back there it's been the hose above the tranny. So it''s just bad as of now.

Yup. I followed the now wet trail of coolant running up to the area above the passenger side of the engine and it's coming from a small hose. It looks like it's going to be bitch to get to without removing the turbo, uim, lim, etc.

Since this isn't my daily driver I'm going to remove the parts mentioned, check the turbo to see it it needs a rebuild/replacement (boosted fine last time I drove it) and then replace all the hoses.

Any suggestions as to where I can get aftermarket colored vacume/coolant/oil hoses? It would be cool if someone sold a kit for the vac/coolant. I'm thinking blue since it'll be a nice contrast to the red engine bay. I may go with SS on the oil stuff but I'd just be happy with the black stuff on mazdatrix's site.

oh and since I'm in that area I'm going to replace the throttle cable and the PD too. The good news is that I sold my dirt bike to pay for this....the bad news is that I sold my dirt bike to pay for this....

My love for the Rex is a sickness......

Do fuel lines and vac lines for sure
Mazdatrix sells colored vac lines, corksport sells a hose techniques kit in different colors for coolant, just get new sae30r9 for the fuel hose.change both of the hoses coming off of the bac as well, well, if theyre there on a TII, i dont remember if they are or not.

^^

Awesome! Thanks. I think I'll get the regular black stuff for the water/coolant from mazdatrix since it's so much cheaper than the samco stuff.
