BAC Valve-keep it or remove it?

I need help deciding whether to keep or remove my BAC valve.
Here's the background...
I used to live in an area that had no emissions, so I removed the rats nest, acv, bac, air pump etc.
Now I live in an area that has emissions, so I've sourced all of those parts and put them back on the car.
I know the air pump and acv is required for emissions.
But I don't think the BAC is required.

Pros and cons?

I'd run the BAC. It's not part of emissions, so why did you remove it in the first place? How well does your 7 idle?

If you want to simplify the BAC valve, you can bypass the coolant hose.

Since the area required no emissions check, I planned on doing alot of work to the car and wanted everything that was not necessary out of the way. When the bac and all the above was removed, it idled fine.

The BAC is for idling purposes, but if your car idles fine then the motivation to put it back on would be less than if you did incur idling problems. The BAC also helps in the starting of the car so if you have problems w/that then you might want to put it back on.

About 15 years ago I wanted the cleanest engine bay I could get free of anything that wasn't required to make the engine run. I removed all the emissions pieces, bac valve, thermo pellet, etc. I took the mechanical fan off and replaced it with an electric one. I did everything to make the engine bay empty. 4 RX-7's later and I am now driving a car that still has everything in the engine bay. Completely stock looking and functioning. It runs better that way.

Understood, I just want to spend more time driving the car, less time working on it. So if I can figure out that balance, that would be good.

eg: so far today, I've spent the last 1.5 hrs trying to get the air pump to fit correctly(and it still isn't on). If I didn't live in Jersey, that would be 1.5hrs of my life back.

Might be time to buy a Toyota pickup.....
Seriously, anything that is 20 years old is not going to work to fill your stated goal.
If the seven is your daily driver then you have to expect to be walking form time to time.
At least get a AAA card so you can get the car home when it breaks.
